Check Out These Vids Of People Loving Life At The 2022 All Native Basketball Tournament

This is the first time the event has taken place since the pandemic.

It’s been two years since the last All Native Basketball Tournament and people attending this week’s tournament in Prince Rupert are absolutely loving life.

“Here we are gathering again and oh how good it feels,” says Kiefer Collison in a video with the First Nations Health Authority. “Let’s play some ball.”

One of the event’s sponsors was CFNR Network, which is based in Terrace. One of their correspondents went to Jim Ciccone Civic Centre gymnasiums as everything was being set up.

“I’ve never attended an All Native before,” she says. “I am really, really excited.”

Jackie Joseph was there for the opening ceremonies. She made a video on her phone of the Haida Nation grand opening dance.

And then of course there was the basketball itself. Check out the crowd going wild in this video of Vancouver versus Bella Coola overtime.
