Earlier this week, we reported on a strongly worded letter from Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Taylor Bachrach to Air Canada urging it to stop messing around and resume flights to Smithers.

It now seems like the concerns of Smithers residents was heard.

“Good news!” Bachrach wrote on his Facebook. “Earlier today I received confirmation that Air Canada will be resuming scheduled service into Smithers beginning October 1, starting with four flights per week. Thank you to all of the community leaders who pushed to make this possible. I’ll continue to work towards getting a similar commitment for Sandspit.”

Stay tuned to Skeena Strong for further details.
