Conditions seemed good when hang glider Yanick Boisclair set off from a ridge near Terrace. But once in the air things got a bit scary.
“Wind at launch and along the ridge was very calm,” reads his description of a video he recently posted to Youtube.
“Once I got off the ridge it was so strong that I had to land at the golf course. I could barely penetrate the wind. Totally unexpected. Wind conditions are to be assessed very meticulously. Use all weather sources available.
This could have been dangerous. I got scared.”
