‘Freakin Wicked’: The View From Inside A Chevy Malibu Hotrod From Kitimat

Terrace drag racing returns.

Maybe you weren’t able to make it out to the first drag race of Northwest Regional Raceway’s 2021 season, which took place last weekend, but this new video posted by B.C. Hotrods puts you right in the driver’s seat of a Chevy Malibu from Kitimat.

You can feel the adrenaline and anticipation, followed by a burst of speed.

“That’s freakin wicked,” said Katherine Reynolds.

Drag racing wasn’t allowed to take place last year because of the pandemic. But it’s coming back this year as COVID restrictions ease–albeit a little slower than usual.

“While every year Terrace hosts a minimum of four races in a season, this year there will only be two, said Jeremy McBride, president of TDRA. Organizers put together last weekend’s drag race within eight days after provincial authorities eased the COVID-19 pandemic regulations earlier in July, Jeremy said,” the Terrace Standard reports

Fans can’t wait for the next event. “Thanks everyone for making the races happen, all you guys did a great job, I had so much fun,” said Steven Montgomery. “See all you in September.”
