Diana Lake Park, a popular recreational spot located 16 km east of Prince Rupert and near Port Edward, has temporarily closed to the public for facility enhancements.

“The goal of the upgrades that are currently underway is to improve the quality and inclusivity of the recreational experience at Diana Lake when the park reopens at the end of April 2025,” said BC’s Environment and Parks Ministry.

Construction is actively being done to add an improved day-use shelter for visitors.

Guests will also be pleased to see an expanded parking lot area with improved accessibility options.

Additionally, the workers are renovating the day-use toilet at the creek side.

They will also remove the park’s gate and move it to a new location that is more distant from the nearby private landowner.

This lakefront park offers a variety of water-related activities. Popular options include sunbathing, swimming, and canoeing.

It also features a fascinating nature trail that winds through lush coastal rainforest.

All five species of Pacific salmon, along with steelhead, rainbow trout, and Dolly Varden, can be found in the lakes and creeks around this provincial park.

Outdoor enthusiasts can observe spawning salmon in Diana Creek during August and September.
