Once again, the Prince Rupert Regional Community Foundation (PRRCF) is opening its grant application period starting March 1, allowing local organizations to apply for funding and support.

“The PRRCF Board of Directors annually appoints a grant-making committee to consider community priorities and action around emerging and existing community needs and how best to meet them through the Foundation’s granting program,” said the foundation.

The board carefully reviews applications from charities and societies across various fields. These include initiatives that support education, social welfare, health services, programs designed for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and substance abuse prevention.

In addition, the foundation prioritizes projects that address critical social issues such as poverty relief, environmental protection and preservation, and the advancement of the arts. Efforts focused on youth development and preventing delinquency are also key areas of interest.

This year’s application window will close on April 30 at 8 p.m. The only way to submit one is online at www.prfoundation.ca.

The foundation will only fund the purchase or repair of fixed or physical assets and will not cover ongoing programs or operating expenses.

The typical amounts of PRRCF grants range from $1,000 to $5,000 per recipient. However, exceptions can sometimes be made if the applicants require more money.
