When the first tanker arrived at the new Pembina LPG export terminal on Watson Island near Prince Rupert, Northcoast Drone was there to document it.
“We braved the weather and even flew in a snowstorm,” the local drone operator writes in a new video posted to his YouTube channel. “A very special thank you to the BC Coast Pilots for providing some extra pictures and video to add to this production.”
Construction on the liquefied petroleum gas project began in 2018, requiring more than $12 million in spending to repurpose an old pulp mill site, which was previously contaminated. The propane loaded onto the first tanker was transported by rail from the Redwater facility in Alberta.
