This is Cam.
Also known as Farmer Cam, he runs the 30-crop Farmer Cam’s Foods out of Hidden Acres Treehouse Resort in Thornhill. After working in economic development on Haida Gwaii, Cam was able to see the incredible agricultural potential in Terrace and set up shop in March 2019.
Cam is passionate about helping the community eat healthy and locally sourced food. After moving here in 2016, he fell in love with the “mind blowing community vibe and epic snow at Shames”. Working at Shames Mountain helped him connect with his love for the back country and supply customers for his farm, as many of the people he has met on the mountain buy his produce.
Cam’s favourite vegetable is the Japanese Hakurei turnip or as he likes to call it, the “salad turnip”. This delicious and fresh snack is a small sample of the incredible things that are offered at the farm and clearly his customers agree. Recently, Farmer Cam’s Foods started producing CSA food boxes but sold out after 24-hours. This is good news for Cam, as he has big plans to grow his farm organically (farming pun anybody?!?).
