Yep, it’s been a miserably wet summer in Prince Rupert. And now science can confirm it. The city had its rainiest summer in a century this year.
“It was almost like the water torture test,” Environment Canada’s Dave Phillips, told the CBC show Daybreak North. “It was like the skids were greased, and just storm after storm, brothers and sisters of storms, just came through.”
The city experienced 800 mm of rain during June, July and August, according to Environment Canada. Unbelievably, there was only one dry day in all of August, which was two and half times rainier than normal.
